Meet The Band
.Denny
Perreault-Vocals/Keys/Percussion One of
the original founding members of The Incredible Ides, with
over 16 years of performing Denny started his musical career
at the age of 8 when his parents started taking him to
accordion lessons modeling after his father Vern who played
accordion and had a family band called The Perreault Rhythm
Boys for over 40 years. His parents later bought him his
first six string guitar and he begin singing and jamming at
family gatherings and with friends. At the end of Junior
High School, together with friend Joe Johnson and others he
was in his first band called The Saboteurs. This band
evolved into a six man band called The Ides of March. The
band later added a horn section, his brother Wayne on vocals
and for several years toured a five state area, won numerous
"battle of the bands" competitions, opened for The Monkeys
twice in front of 10,000 screaming fans, and performed on
television following The Boxtops of "The Letter" fame. The
band later dropped the "of March" from the name and went
simply by "The Incredible Ides". When The Ides disbanded he
continued his singing career in a band called Earthward with
friends Terry Miller and drummer Jimmy Hyde, (both had
played in The Ides for a short time), Hyde later moved to
Nashville and was Eddie Rabbit's drummer for 20 years. Denny
also played in numerous school based bands while attending
Nashwauk-Keewatin High School, Hibbing Community College,
and Moorhead State University. He began playing tenor
saxophone in high school and continued that into college
playing in jazz bands, concert bands, and a European Tour.
Throughout this time he continued training and performing
lead vocals as well as playing sax, percussion, and
keyboards. While at Moorhead State U. he auditioned for a
lead vocalist spot with an eight piece horn band called
Americka which he toured with for several years. He earned a
degree in music while at Moorhead State University, where he
also took up the bass guitar and formed his last band during
his college days called Colours with friend Dave Grosz. The
band performed mostly in the nightclub and hotel circuits.
He played bass guitar and shared lead vocal responsibilities
with Mary Getz who later was a three time winner on the
television hit "Star Search". Denny's favorite musical
styles are: Rhythm and blues with some funk and soul mixed
in, rock and classic rock , some country rock, swing and
jazz. Musical Influences on his career include: His father
Vern, The Fabulous Flippers, The Roaring Reddogs, (Kansas
bands), The Uglies, The Cornerstones, Michael's Mystics,
